What is the best book you've read this year, and why?

Oh hm... I think that'd be Going Postal by Terry Pratchett. *heart*

What is the worst movie you've ever seen? Did you sit through it or walk out? What made it so dreadful?

Oh, that's easy: DAREDEVIL. *MIGHTY SHUDDER*

So yes, dreadful would be very accurate way to describe that movie; so dreadful indeed that I found the idea of sittung through it physically repulsing (my mind's way of showing the body - or more accurately: the hand grasping the remote control - that I would put myself into serious danger of losing a massive amount of brain cells if I went along with the 2h-something horror trip).
But, truth to be told, I firmly believe in second chances, and at the time I was inclined to give it a second chance, and occasionally zapped in again to see if it had gotten any better while I was away watching something less brain-dead better. It hadn't. It wouldn't.

But WHY, I moan, why did it have to be done that way? Leaving the crappy storyline aside, is there anyone else out there who wonders why THE HELL a movie about someone who is BLIND needs so many many many funky flashy special effect Hollywood mumbo jumbo..??

Anyway, I never came around to read the comic and I dearly hope - hope - that it is more delightful to read than the movie was to (not-) watch.

If you were to make a time capsule today to be opened in 50 years, what would you put in it?

Myself, hahahahaha. I'd like to see what life is like in 50 years, and I'm too impatient to wait (plus I'd still be young and crispy).

Maybe the world won't have changed much in 50 years.

Maybe everything will be different, and I have to think carefully about what to take with me into that time capsule. Maybe plant seeds if all measures for climate protection have failed after all (note to self: bring warm coat). Maybe a national flag from Germany, because the U.S. will have ursurped all other countries by then in a fit of megalomania and the banner will be worth a fortune on the black market version of ebay. Maybe they'll have found the Fountain of Youth and Johnny Depp will be a 100 years old and still deliriously attractive.

Or maybe the world won't have changed much at all.

... I hope they don't ban coffee.

(Maybe within the next 50 years I'll have come around to finally change my sucky journal layout.)

I realized that it is time I finally updated my journal. You know- to make up for the total waste of webspace and all. (although no one ever reads this)

And oh! I can see a lot of my future journal entries begin like that: I realized that it is time I updated my journal. Finally! The first time in 7/12/25 weeks! *drop*

Still wondering what to do with this journal, though. I feel like doing fandom, but I'm lazy. So for now beware the RL rambling starting ...NOW. (dum dum dummm!)

Here is where I talk about plantsCollapse )

...and here is where I admit that I spend too much time in front of the TVCollapse )

But then I saw ***this*** on TV and I was happy again :D

(but I suggest you watch it on producer Astrid Rieger's official website in a much better quality :D)

And there's the Oscar show tonight and I'm going to watch it. Hihihi.

(wondering why my English always sucks so hard as soon as I actually want to write something)
